Lubrication System Upgrades

Rockford Engineering Works generated the preliminary design and final engineering for a circulating lubrication system which provides reliable lubrication for the critical gearboxes on a rolling mill for a steel producer. Currently, this process equipment shared a large centralized lubrication system with other plant equipment which frequently experienced contamination. A dedicated system was designed to ensure adequate lubrication was delivered to the gearboxes. The use of a heavy weight oil was considered when sizing of the power unit motors and pumps, supply and return piping, heating/cooling and filtration.
