Free-lift Belt Lifter

The Free-lift Belt Lifter was designed to create a safe method of lifting a belt in a low-back potash room so mine operators can install belt hardware.

The Belt Lifter can lift and lower the top and bottom belts independently. Since the Belt Lifter utilizes a 2-to-1 lift advantage similar to a forklift, the free-lift portion ensures the 1st stage cylinder fully extends to minimize the distance between the belt tine and the back.

The project required a high safety factor of ten (10) on non-redundant components and safety factor of five (5) on redundant components to ensure worker safety was paramount. The Belt Lifter is a skid steer attachment that connects via fork pockets.

The prominent safety factors and maximum weight restraints dictate the need to utilize QT-100 plate in this design to minimize the overall mass.
